With reference to my despatch No.10 of 23rd May,
1946, I have the honour to report that on return of Dr. Percy
Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke to the Colony on 28th July, 1946, Dr. Joseph
Patrick Fehily ceased to be a member of the Legislative Council
with effect from that date.
2. I have re-appointed Dr. Fehily, provisionally and
subject to His Majesty's pleasure, to be temporarily an official
member of the Council in place of Mr. Thomas Megarry who is acting
as an ex officio member of the Council.
3. Copies of the instrument of appointment and of the
government notification relating to the appointment are enclosed.
